The PECB ISO 9001 Lead Implementer is a five-day training course that aims to help you develop the competence necessary to establish, implement, operate, maintain, and continually improve a QMS. This training course aims to equip you with in-depth knowledge on ISO 9001 requirements, as well as the best practices and approaches used for the implementation and subsequent maintenance of a QMS.

Your fee covers PECB’s full certification cycle:

• The certification application fee
• The first year of PECB's Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF)

Both the 12-month window and what the fee covers are set by PECB’s Exam Rules and Policies. Note the last item: PECB covers the first year of its Annual Maintenance Fee, so keeping the credential current after that first year is paid to PECB directly.

Prerequisites

The main requirements for participating in this training course are a basic knowledge of ISO management system standards, overall knowledge of ISO 9001, and the MS implementation principles. An understanding of ISO's quality management principles may also facilitate the learning process.

Exam & certification

The course closes with the PECB Certified ISO 9001 Lead Implementer Exam, which meets the requirements of PECB’s Examination and Certification Programme and covers 7 competency domains:

1. Fundamental principles and concepts of a quality management system
2. Initiation of a QMS implementation
3. Planning of a QMS implementation based on ISO 9001
4. Implementation of a QMS based on ISO 9001
5. Monitoring and measurement of a QMS based on ISO 9001
6. Continual improvement of a QMS based on ISO 9001
7. Preparation for a QMS certification audit

Pass it and you can apply for the PECB Certified ISO 9001 Lead Implementer credential. Passing the exam is only part of what PECB asks: each rung of the ladder adds experience, and every one of them requires signing the PECB Code of Ethics.
